Maximum Fight 7 Packs Ibirapuera Gym, Delivers Big Knockouts and Projects Event for Over 10,000 People

Maximum Fight held its seventh edition on Saturday, October 10, showcasing the strength Muay Thai has been gaining in Brazil. With nine bouts featuring prominent names from the national scene, title fights, and impactful knockouts, the event filled the Mauro Pinheiro Gymnasium in the Ibirapuera complex in São Paulo.

With a capacity of just over 3,000 people, the gym sold out nearly a month before the event. This is even more significant considering Maximum Fight's unique approach of not charging for public access.

For general admission, tickets were available through the donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food. For seated areas, attendees were required to contribute 1 kg of pet food in addition to the food donation. The donations were collected at the entrance to the gym.

This initiative reinforces a characteristic that has become a hallmark of Maximum Fight. More than just promoting fights, the event aims to create an experience that brings the audience closer to high-level Muay Thai.

Those who could not attend in person also had free access. The entire program was streamed on YouTube at no charge, further expanding the competition's reach.

And the numbers reflected the audience's response. By the fourth fight of the night, the broadcast surpassed 5,000 devices connected simultaneously, an important indicator of interest in national Muay Thai events when there is investment in infrastructure, athletes, and broadcast quality.

Technical Structure and Experts in Broadcasting

The seventh edition also featured a technical structure composed of experienced professionals in the sport.

The refereeing was overseen by AMTI, led by Paulo Carvalho, bringing together various experienced names from São Paulo's refereeing community during the bouts.

In the broadcast, Guilherme Maia, a sports commentator who has covered Maximum Fight in previous editions, led the narration. He was joined by Tiago Simão, editor-in-chief of Acervo Thai, providing technical insights into the matchups.

The team also included referees Dener Alexandre and Kleber Araújo in the commentary. The presence of professionals directly involved with the rules and refereeing of Muay Thai added technical content to the broadcast, helping the audience understand details that often go unnoticed during a fight.

Dalberty Santos Opens the Night with Knockout in the Fourth Round

The first fight featured Dalberty Santos against Anderson Tigre.

The bout reached the fourth round but did not go the distance. With just 23 seconds left in the round, Dalberty found the perfect moment to land a powerful right straight.

The strike hit Anderson cleanly, sending him to the canvas, resulting in Dalberty Santos winning by knockout in the fourth round and starting the card with a decisive finish.

Ana Proost and Day Vieira Battle in a Close Match at 55 kg

The second fight of the night saw Ana Proost face Day Vieira in the under 55 kg category.

Ana entered the matchup standing at 1.70 m tall, with 23 fights and 14 victories. Day Vieira, at 1.63 m, had more experience with 35 bouts and 22 wins.

From the early rounds, different strategies were evident. One fighter focused on close-range work and clinching, while the other aimed to manage distance and attack primarily the legs.

In the third round, the fight became more physical, featuring intense clinch work and knee exchanges. The balance remained a hallmark of the contest.

Ana began to assert herself more in the fourth round. She imposed her game better and limited some of Day's actions, who attempted to control the distance. The openings allowed Ana to increase her output and have significant moments in the fight.

Jotapê Azevedo Claims Portuários Stadium Title

The third fight brought a special element to the card. Jotapê Azevedo faced Pedro Sanda in a title bout for the Portuários Stadium.

This fight was the result of a partnership between Portuários Stadium and Maximum Fight. Located in Baixada Santista, São Paulo, Portuários Stadium is the first venue dedicated to Muay Thai in Brazil.

Inside the ring, Jotapê and Pedro fought two very balanced opening rounds. Both athletes were technical, avoiding unnecessary exposure and dedicating much of the early rounds to studying their opponent.

In the third round, Pedro Sanda increased his activity, while Jotapê found better opportunities to land knee strikes. The athlete finished the round with a slight advantage.

It was in the fourth round that Jotapê found even more efficiency. Utilizing movement, staying out of close range, and landing kicks, he made it difficult for Pedro Sanda to establish his ideal distance.

With the advantage built, Jotapê executed an intelligent fifth round. He managed the actions, avoided unnecessary risks, and confirmed his victory, claiming the Portuários Stadium title.

In addition to the title, the bout symbolized something important for the sport's development, showing that different organizations can work together to strengthen the Brazilian Muay Thai circuit.

José “Tio Zé” Miguel Controls Distance to Defeat Gustavo Pereira

In the fourth fight, José “Tio Zé” Miguel faced Gustavo Pereira in a different format from the traditional bouts on the card.

The duel was contested in the Muay Extreme format, featuring three rounds and the use of MMA gloves. This style has gained significant international visibility in recent years, particularly through major Asian events.

Tio Zé began by utilizing his physical advantage and reach. The jab was one of his primary tools to control Gustavo's approach, often followed by kicks at the end of combinations.

Gustavo needed to move forward to close the distance and land his attacks. Despite the balance in the first round, Tio Zé managed to work slightly better.

The dynamic remained similar in the second round. Even while retreating, Tio Zé controlled the space, used the jab to interrupt Gustavo's advance, and finished his actions with kicks.

Gustavo also landed good strikes but struggled to consistently apply pressure on his opponent.

In the third round, especially in the final minute, Gustavo increased his volume and attempted to turn the fight around. However, Tio Zé managed to survive the intense moments, regain distance, and control the bout until the bell.

In the end, José “Tio Zé” Miguel won by judges' decision.

It was during this part of the card that Maximum Fight's broadcast surpassed 5,000 connected devices, one of the standout figures of the night.

Lucas “Retz” Lima Wins After Stoppage Before the Fourth Round

The fifth fight featured Lucas “Retz” Lima against Marcelo Sayajin.

Marcelo made his intentions clear almost from the first second. After the bell, he sought exchanges and showed he did not intend to use the initial minutes just to study his opponent.

Lucas, however, managed to control the actions better and ended the first round with a slight advantage.

In the second, Retz began to find more strikes. Marcelo continued to seek an open fight, while Lucas used his versatility to escape pressure situations and respond effectively.

The difference became clearer in the third round, as Lucas began to control the fight better.

Between the third and fourth rounds, Marcelo Sayajin apparently felt unwell and was unable to return for the next round. With the stoppage, Lucas “Retz” Lima was declared the winner by technical knockout.

Rhuam Felipe Opens Cut and Defeats Ricardo “Fofo” Max

In the sixth fight of the night, Rhuam Felipe entered the ring against Ricardo “Fofo” Max.

A world champion with an international career and experience gained during a period living in Thailand, Rhuam was one of the most accomplished fighters on the card.

Ricardo, however, was undeterred.

In the first round, he sought to impose his attacks and found good moments using kicks, including targeting his opponent's calf.

Starting in the second round, Rhuam began to take greater control of the distance and neutralized some of Ricardo's main actions.

In the third round, the pace picked up.

Rhuam found space to land a strong elbow strike, opening a significant cut on Ricardo's forehead. Realizing he could not continue, the athlete knelt and signaled to the referee that he could not proceed.

Rhuam Felipe won by technical knockout in the third round.

Matheus “Pinokio” Silva Confirms Great Form with Knockout

In the seventh fight, Matheus “Pinokio” Silva faced Jhonata “Gohan” Farias Silva and delivered one of the most dominant performances of the night.

From the first round, Pinokio took control of the bout and began a systematic attack on his opponent's lower limbs.

The attacks on Gohan's calves and legs diminished his mobility and hindered his ability to mount offensive actions.

In the second round, Matheus returned even more aggressive. In addition to increasing the power of his strikes, he maintained the strategy of punishing the legs.

With 1 minute and 50 seconds remaining in the round, another precise strike sent Gohan to the canvas. The referee began the count, but the fighter could not recover.

Victory for Matheus “Pinokio” Silva by knockout in the second round.

This performance reinforced Pinokio's position among the top athletes in his category in the country. The fighter is the South American champion of WMO and WMC and already has significant victories in the national circuit, including a win over Rhuam Felipe.

The result at Maximum Fight adds another chapter to a trajectory that places him among the top names to beat in Brazil today.

Thauan Laia Lands Elbow and Knocks Out Weverton Ribeiro

The penultimate fight featured Thauan Laia and Weverton Ribeiro.

The first round was more measured. Both athletes built their actions cautiously, with Thauan showing a slight advantage, particularly in posture and the technical execution of some movements.

In the second round, Weverton significantly increased his activity. He began to land more strikes and moved better, trying to take the initiative.

Thauan, however, did not allow his opponent to work unchallenged.

Whenever he was hit, he sought to return fire. At the same time, he tried to control the distance and induce Weverton to advance, creating opportunities to counterattack.

In the third round, Weverton again started actively, landing combinations and finishing some with low kicks.

Thauan opted for less volume and greater precision.

The strategy paid off.

With 57 seconds left in the third round, Thauan Laia landed a precise elbow strike to Weverton's face. The impact sent the athlete immediately to the canvas.

The referee began the count, but Weverton could not return.

Thauan Laia won by knockout in the third round, delivering one of the standout moments of the final stretch of Maximum Fight 7.

Maximum Fight Projects Arena for Over 10,000 People in 2027

Just before the main event, Maximum Fight was already looking to the future.

The event's co-founder, Leandro Longo, revealed the organization's intention to hold an edition in a significantly larger venue next year.

The expectation is to find an arena with a capacity of over 10,000 people.

This project gains weight in light of the scenario presented at this edition. Maximum Fight managed to sell out a gym with a capacity of over 3,000 spectators nearly a month in advance, even though it was an event dedicated exclusively to Muay Thai.

Bringing a promotion of the sport to an arena with more than 10,000 people would represent a significant leap for the national scene and could create a mark of great relevance within the South American context.

The proposal reinforces a message that the organization has been trying to convey in its editions. Muay Thai has an audience, mobilizes a significant community, and has the potential to occupy increasingly larger spaces within the Brazilian sports calendar.

Victor “Alemão” Augusto Wins Rematch Against Rodrigo “Subzero” Lemos

The entire night led the audience to the rematch between Rodrigo “Subzero” Lemos and Victor “Alemão” Augusto.

The two had faced each other previously, with Subzero winning. This time, Victor arrived at Maximum Fight determined to change the narrative.

Since their first fight, Alemão has gained new experiences in his career, including the opportunity to compete internationally. He returned to Brazil more experienced and found in the rematch a chance to showcase his evolution.

And that is exactly what happened.

From the first round, Victor took a more active stance. He attacked Subzero's legs and thighs, worked with greater volume, and took the initiative in the actions.

Rodrigo tried to respond but struggled to increase his output.

Throughout the five rounds, Alemão maintained a consistent performance. He produced more, managed the distance better, and remained comfortable within his strategy.

Subzero took time to become more active and allowed his opponent to build an advantage without facing significant pressure.

Victor not only landed more strikes but also controlled the pace of the bout.

After five rounds, there was no doubt in the decision.

Victor “Alemão” Augusto defeated Rodrigo “Subzero” Lemos by unanimous decision, avenging the loss from their first encounter.

Now, each fighter has one victory in their direct matchup.

This was the perfect conclusion to a night that showcased different facets of Brazilian Muay Thai. There were titles, knockouts, elbow strikes, technical confrontations, established names, and athletes seeking their place.

Above all, there was an audience.

With tickets sold out weeks in advance, over 3,000 people filling the gym, thousands of devices following the event for free online, and a project already aiming for an arena for over 10,000 spectators, Maximum Fight concluded its seventh edition demonstrating that its significance goes beyond the outcome of each fight.

Typically holding one to two editions per year, the event has become one of the main showcases for national Muay Thai and, consequently, one of the most sought-after stages for Brazilian athletes.

The seventh edition ended with Victor “Alemão” Augusto raising his arms in the center of the ring. At the same time, it left an even greater expectation for the next chapter of Maximum Fight and the potential growth of Muay Thai in Brazil.
