Andrea López Eyes RWS Return After Making History at Rajadamnern Stadium

Argentine fighter Andrea López has already accomplished something few South American Muay Thai athletes can claim: she has stepped inside the ring at Rajadamnern Stadium and competed under the bright lights of the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS).

Now, after building an international career that includes appearances at some of the biggest stages in the sport and multiple professional titles, López has set her sights on returning to where she made history.

The 30-year-old Argentine, who competes around 115 lbs (52.2 kg), is currently preparing for what she hopes will be another opportunity to fight at RWS and continue establishing herself among the leading names in the international women’s Muay Thai circuit.

Making History at Rajadamnern

Andrea López’s connection with RWS goes back to one of the most important nights in the history of Rajadamnern Stadium.

On August 5, 2022, López faced Thailand’s The Star Sitcho as part of the RWS women’s flyweight tournament at Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok.

Her appearance was much more than another international fight.

That evening marked the first female fight night in the history of Rajadamnern Stadium, which had opened in 1945 and, for 77 years, had never allowed women to compete inside its ring. López was one of the women selected to take part in that historic change.

In doing so, the Argentine became a pioneering figure for South American Muay Thai at one of the sport’s most prestigious venues.

The significance of the moment was clear even before she entered the ring. Speaking from Rajadamnern at the time, López described arriving at the stadium as a dream, having traveled from Argentina to pursue Muay Thai in Thailand.

It was a milestone not only in López’s career, but also in the transformation of women’s Muay Thai at Rajadamnern.

An Argentine Career Built on International Challenges

The RWS appearance is only one chapter in López’s international journey.

Born on December 6, 1995, Andrea represents Argentina and has built a professional record of 28 victories and seven defeats, including six wins by knockout, according to information provided by her team.

Her career has taken her from South America to some of the most important stages in Asian combat sports.

Before her historic RWS appearance, López had already competed for ONE Championship. In September 2020, she faced Thai rising star Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak in a professional Muay Thai bout at ONE: A New Breed II in Thailand.

She later returned to ONE competition in 2022, facing China’s Lin Heqin in Singapore.

Her résumé also includes an appearance at Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium, making her the first Argentine woman to compete there, according to information supplied by her team.

Together, those appearances have made López one of the Argentine fighters with the deepest experience competing on major international Muay Thai stages.

WMO Champion and a Growing Collection of Titles

Alongside those international appearances, López has continued adding championships to her résumé.

One of the most significant came in Ecuador in February 2025, when she competed against Estefania Enriquez for the WMO South American Professional Super Bantamweight Championship. The World Muay Thai Organization’s official event listing confirms López’s participation in the South American title fight.

Today, López holds the distinction of being a WMO South American Professional Super Bantamweight Champion.

Her professional championship résumé also includes the WMC South American Super Bantamweight title, the Argentine Muay Thai League Professional Bantamweight Championship, the Headshot Fight Combat Super Flyweight Championship in Brazil, and the Main Event Championship Professional Super Flyweight title.

According to information provided by her team, López was also ranked No. 4 in the WBC MuayThai world rankings in September 2026, further reflecting her position within the international women’s scene.

Training under KMT Muay Thai / Calavera Muay Thai and represented by promoter Juan Manuel Esteban, López continues to build toward the next stage of her career.

The Goal: Back to RWS

Four years after becoming part of Rajadamnern history, Andrea López now has a clear objective:

to return to the Rajadamnern World Series.

There is currently no confirmed date for her next RWS appearance, but López is preparing with the intention of earning another opportunity inside the promotion.

And a return would carry a different meaning this time.

In 2022, López entered Rajadamnern as one of the pioneers opening the stadium’s doors to female fighters. Women had previously been prohibited from competing in — and historically even touching — the Rajadamnern ring. That barrier finally came down with the introduction of women’s competition through RWS.

Today, women’s Muay Thai has become an established part of the stadium’s modern era. Just months after López and the other pioneers competed there, RWS crowned its first women’s flyweight champion, further establishing female competition at the historic venue.

For López, returning would therefore represent another chapter in a story she helped begin.

With international experience, championship credentials and a professional career spanning Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and some of Asia’s biggest combat sports stages, the Argentine is now focused on earning her way back onto the RWS card.

Andrea López has already made history at Rajadamnern. Now, the WMO South American champion wants the opportunity to return — not simply as a pioneer, but as a more experienced fighter ready to show how far she has come and continue proving herself among the top athletes in women’s Muay Thai.
