Yassir Rassafi Knocks Out Tom Yum Kung in the First Round but Loses Bonus for Missing Weight at ONE Lumpinee 176

Yassir Rassafi was one of the standout performers on Friday night (30) at The Inner Circle 36 / ONE Friday Fights 176, held at ONE Lumpinee. The Moroccan knocked out Thai fighter Tom Yum Kung Pornmueangchang in the first round, ending his opponent's winning streak.

The result carried special significance given Tom Yum Kung's recent momentum. Before the fight, the Thai fighter was on a roll, entering the ring in pursuit of his fifth consecutive victory, with a larger goal in mind: securing a contract with ONE Championship.

The MuayThaiStand page had highlighted this ambition in the fight preview. Tom Yum aimed to finish Rassafi to extend his streak and strengthen his path toward an opportunity with the organization.

However, those plans did not survive the first round.

On the other hand, Rassafi made sure to steal the spotlight. The Moroccan found the knockout early in the first round, halting the Thai's good run and achieving a notable victory in the event.

Despite the impressive result, not everything ended in celebration for the winner. Rassafi lost his right to the fight bonus for exceeding the weight limit at the weigh-in. Even with a first-round knockout, the Moroccan let the financial reward slip away.

For Tom Yum Kung, the defeat postponed his goal of achieving a fifth consecutive win, a result that could have bolstered his quest for a contract with ONE.

Meanwhile, Rassafi concluded the night with a decisive victory but also with a missed financial opportunity outside the ring. This contrast marked his participation in ONE Lumpinee 176.
