After Victory at Rajadamnern, Thanungern Appeals to Reunite with Father He Has Never Met
Thanungern Por. Lakboon, who won by technical knockout at RWS, seeks to reunite with his father, whom he has only spoken to via video call at the age of 22.
Thanungern Por. Lakboon is experiencing a special moment in the ring, but he carries a desire that goes far beyond victories in Muay Thai. At 28 years old, the Thai fighter, whose real name is Amnat Nontapa, is searching for his father, Samai Nontapa, whom he has never had the chance to meet in person.
On Saturday (24), Thanungern defeated Iranian Vahid Nikkhah by technical knockout in the third round during the RWS KNOCKTOBERFEST at Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok. However, outside the ring, his greatest wish is to share moments like this with his father.
In a statement shared by the Mister Pong page on Facebook, the fighter revealed that he grew up without ever seeing his father's face. The first contact occurred only when he was 22, through a video call. Now, six years later, he is still waiting for their first meeting.
"I want to see my father in person at least once in my life. I have never seen him since I was born. I only managed to talk to him via video call when I was 22, and now I am 28," Thanungern said.

The fighter also shared that he has started his own family and has a son who is two years and eight months old. His dream is for his father to meet his grandson and to witness one of his fights at Rajadamnern, one of the most traditional venues for Muay Thai.
"Today I have my family and a son who is two years and eight months old. I want my father to come visit, meet his grandson, and see me fight at least once at Rajadamnern. I want him to see my achievements and feel proud of this son," he declared.
According to the post, Samai Nontapa is originally from Roi Et province in Thailand. The page requests that anyone with information about his whereabouts contact Mister Pong or Rong Od Sarakham, who shared the information.
As he continues his journey in Muay Thai, Thanungern hopes to fulfill a dream that no belt or victory can replace: finding his father, introducing his family, and personally showcasing everything he has achieved in the ring.
